Cold-drawn Round Steel
Cold-drawn round steel, also known as cold-drawn round steel and light round, is a type of cold-drawn steel. Whether it is cold-drawn round steel or round steel, its shape is circular, but the surface of cold-drawn round steel is very smooth, its dimensional accuracy is high, and its mechanical properties are high. Due to its high dimensional accuracy, it can be used directly without processing. The executive standard is GB/T3078-2008. The material grade can be carbon steel, high-quality carbon steel, alloy steel.
-Specification: Ф3mm-Ф100mm
-Grade name: Q235 Q215 20# 35# 45# 20Cr 40Cr 20CrMo GCr15
Cold-drawn steel rod’s Difference with normal grade rod: Cold-drawn round steel is a kind of round steel with high precision. It can be used directly as a shaft without further processing. The corresponding ordinary round steel is the common round steel used in construction. The heat treatment state of the supply is ” Normalizing”, whether it is dimensional accuracy or material, it is of ordinary level.
Definition and material characteristics of carbon steel round steel
Carbon steel round steel is a steel with carbon as the main alloying element and a small amount of manganese and silicon. The carbon content is usually between 0.15% and 0.75%. The main advantages of carbon steel round bars are good machinability, weldability, machinability and mechanical properties
Executive standard of carbon steel round bar
1. GB/T 699-2015 “High quality carbon structural steels”.
2. ASTM A108-13A “Standard Specification for Steel Bar, Carbon and Alloy, Cold-Finished”.
3. JIS G4051-2009 “Carbon Steels for Machine Structural Use”.
4. EN 10083-2-2006 “Steels for Quenching and Tempering Part 2: Technical Delivery Conditions for Non Alloy Steels”.
Among the above standards, GB/T 699 is the steel quality standard promulgated by my country, which is applicable to various steel products such as stainless steel and alloy steel, including carbon steel round steel. ASTM A108 is a carbon steel round steel standard formulated by the United States, which is suitable for the manufacture of mechanical parts and bearings. JIS G4051 is a carbon steel round bar standard formulated by Japan, which is suitable for carbon steel and bearing steel for mechanical structures. EN 10083-2 is a carbon steel round bar standard formulated in Europe, which is suitable for the manufacture of various engineering structural parts and mechanical parts.
Taking GB/T 699-2015 as an example, the chemical composition, mechanical properties, hardness, tensile strength, yield strength, impact toughness and other requirements of round steel are detailed. Among them, the carbon content ranges from 0.08% to 0.60%, the diameter of the round steel should be between 5mm and 150mm, the tensile strength should not be less than 335MPa, the reduction of area should not be less than 10%, and the hardness test should meet the relevant standards.
Application Range of Carbon Steel Rods
1.Carbon steel rods are often used to make machine parts and tools. Carbon steel has higher strength and rigidity, which can increase the pressure and fatigue. Therefore, carbon steel rods are often used to manufacture respective mechanical parts, such as bearing gears. In addition, carbon steel rods can also be used to manufacture various knives and tools, such as blades, pliers, wrenches, etc. The high strength of carbon steel rods and steel plates makes these machine parts and tools more durable and reliable.
2.Carbon steel rods also have important applications in the field of construction. Carbon steel rods can be used to make steel bars, which are used to strengthen the strength and stability of concrete structures. In construction, steel bars are embedded in concrete to form a tight bond with concrete, improving the compressive performance and bearing capacity of concrete. In addition, the high strength and stability of carbon steel rods make the building structure more stable and safe.
3.There are other uses, for example, it can be used to make car parts such as wheels, frames, etc. The high strength and corrosion resistance of carbon steel rods make the car more stable and safe. In addition, carbon steel rods can also be used to manufacture structural parts of ships and aircraft, such as hulls, wings, and the like. The light weight and high strength of carbon steel rods make ships and aircraft more energy-efficient and reliable. It can also be used to manufacture various furniture and utensils, and its corrosion resistance ensures the hygiene and durability of these utensils
